Dr. Jason Mitchell

As a public health specialist with over 20 years of experience, I have a strong background in sexual and reproductive health, particularly in the context of HIV/AIDS. I have worked extensively in Fiji, where I have led national responses to HIV outbreaks, provided technical guidance on prevention, treatment, and care, and advocated for rights-based approaches in policies and programs. I am currently pursuing a PhD in human sexuality at the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Fiji National University, focusing on sex, pleasure, and sexual function in the Fijian adult population. I also hold a Master of Medicine in Sexual and Reproductive Health from the University of Sydney and a Master of Public Health from Cardiff University. My skills include programme design, technical documentation, and technical advisory. I am passionate about improving the health and well-being of marginalized communities and promoting equity, inclusion, and sustainability in public health interventions.
