Dan is a quantitative health geographer/spatial epidemiologist with over 25 years’ experience researching geographical variations in health outcomes. He is particularly interested in the identification of, and potential solutions to, health disparities due to socio-economic position, area level disadvantage or ethnicity. Dan’s research mainly integrates Geographical Information Science, big-data and the secondary analysis of large administrative datasets to investigate determinants of health on whole-of-population cohorts. He has extensive experience teaching including the principles of population health, equity and translating health information for different communities to undergrad, postgrad and doctoral students.
