Dr. Amanda Eng

Dr Amanda Eng is a Senior Research Officer at the Centre for Public Health Research, Massey University, New Zealand. She has considerable experience in conducting epidemiological studies in the field of occupational exposure and health and has been involved in a large number of studies examining occupational and environmental risk factors for a wide range of health outcomes, including cancer, neuropsychological function, birth defects, and respiratory disease. She also has experience working in the area of breast cancer research in the UK, in particular examining mammographic breast density as a determinant of breast cancer risk. Her recent work includes studies of occupational health and national meta-data, including an HRC-funded study examining occupational risk factors for cardiovascular disease and a study examining occupational risk factors for suicide, self-harm, and mental health. Dr Eng is currently leading a study which aims to estimate the proportion and number of cancer cases and deaths attributable to modifiable exposures in NZ.
